Bangabandhu statue: Joy feels Hifazat-e Islam is playing the role of 1971's Jamaat-e-Islami
Dhaka: Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy , ICT Advisor to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has said that by opposing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's statue, hardline group Hifazat-e Islam is playing the role the Jamaat-e-Islami did during the 1971 Liberation War.

Mujib killer Abdul Majed, who was hiding in Kolkata for 23 yrs, hanged, buried in Dhaka
Dhaka/IBNS: Abdul Majed, the convicted killer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members, who was hiding in Kolkata in West Bengal for nearly 23 years, was hanged in Dhaka on Sunday. He was later buried at the family graveyard of his in-laws in Hosenpur under Sonargaon area in Narayanganj on the same day.
