'Not banned, one product recalled in Singapore: Spice brand Everest clarifies amid row

New Delhi/IBNS: Spice brand Everest rejected reports that its products have been banned in Singapore and Hong Kong after food regulators in both countries red-flagged a cancer-causing ingredient in certain products of popular Indian spice brands alongside MDH.

New Delhi/IBNS: After food regulator bodies in Hong Kong and Singapore red-flagged popular spice brands from India-Everest and MDH-over presence of a cancer-causing ingredient, the Centre has ordered food commissioners to collect samples of spices from all the manufacturing units in the country, media reports said.

New Delhi/IBNS: Dharampal Gulati, who was the owner of MDH Masala and the familiar face of the brand, passed away on Thursday. He was 97.
