IPL: RR beat RCB by 5 wickets

Bangalore, May 11 (IBNS): An all-round performance by Yuvraj Singh could not stop Steven Smith and James Faulkner from snatching an Indian Premier League (IPL) match away from Royal Challengers Bangalore as Rajasthan Royals won the clash by five wickets here on Sunday.

Chasing RECB's competitive 190 for five, RR reached the target of 191 runs by losing five wickets with seven balls to spare.

RR was struggling at 106 for five when Smith (48*) and

Faulkner (41*) added 85 runs in the sixth wicket partnership to reach the target at the end.

Smith was ruthless in his 21-ball knock where he hammered four boundaries and equal numbers of sixes.

Faulkner played another crucial knock of 17-ball 41 which made the visitors chase down the target easily at the end.

After shining with his willow, Yuvraj Singh made a good show with his bowling hand too as he picked up four wickets by giving away 35 runs in his four as he gave RR initial jolts.

Karun Nair top scored for RR wit his 56. He was bowled out by Singh.


Earlier, RCB posted 190 for five in their 20 overs.

Yuvraj Singh top scored for the side with his entertaining 38-ball 83.

He smashed seven sixes and equal number of boundaries in his knock.

Singh along with AB de Villiers (58) added 132 runs in the fourth wicket partnership as both the batsmen, who are known for their big hitting prowess, tore apart the opponent's bowling.

Kane Richardson took two wickets for RR.
