Vishal Dadlani apologises after making goof up over Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon song

| @indiablooms | Jan 26, 2021, at 08:53 pm

Mumbai/IBNS: Musician Vishal Dadlani has apologised after putting a wrong fact over legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon.

On television show Indian Idol, Dadlani had said Mangeshkar had sung the song to India's first Prime Minister late Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947.

However, the song was presented to Nehru by Mangeshkar after in 1963, in remembrance of the martyrs of 1962 Indo-Sino war.

Taking to Twitter, Dadlani, who was heavily trolled for the goof up, said, "I see a few right-wingers "offended" by my messing up the date of "Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon" being sung to Pt. Nehru. I apologise for my error.

"These "staunch Nationalists" didn't say a thing when Chornab celebrated the deaths of 40 Indian soldiers in Pulwama as a TRP win. Odd."
