Stars are more connected to their fans now through social media

Mumbai, Dec 18 (IBNS): Gone are the days when we saw stars on the big screen and relied on film magazines to know more about their personal lives.
With the influx of social media,  audiences got a closer peek into the lives of their celebrities.

However now,  with the social media wave, the ball game has changed. Especially the young brigade of stars getting much more conversational.

The young brigade do not mind sharing their everyday lives through the social platform.  They are constantly updating their status, sharing their thoughts, opinions, pictures and nitty grittes though Instagram, Facebook, Twitter.

"The younger lot of celebrities like Alia, Varun etc have as much grown up with the internet as any other youth in the country. Hence, its natural for them to be comfortable in expressing themselves on social media," says Prabhat Choudhary,  of Spice, a leading marketing and communication agency.

They no longer believe in holding back and express freely.  The gen next actors are supportive of each other and are often seen congratulating and promoting each other’s body of work through social media.

Shraddha Kapoor said: "Social media has changed the way we communicate. The best part of it according to me is to be able to keep in touch with your fans! There is no better feeling. When I give an interview it is a journalist's interpretation of what I have spoken to him/her but on social media it is just me. I feel a sense of freedom of expression and also people know that what I am saying isn't fabricated or being put across through a lens of another person :) "

This clan definitely is very focused and has a different spunk to them. It’s no longer about hiding their relationships or flings. It’s about going all out and having a more real approach towards their fans and people who love them.

Social media has evolved the equation between a fan and star. Even fans sitting in smaller towns can reach out and have a one on one relationship with these youngsters through social media.

Says Sidharth  Malhotra  "Connecting on social media gives you a chance to directly interact with your fans. It gives us the freedom to express our views freely and get feed back instantly."

Its no longer on what is been said in media, the source of news is direct from the star through these new age platforms.

Social media has been embraced with open arms by these youngsters and made them more reachable, relatable and real.

Be it Alia, Shradha, Varun or Sidharth they all are there to share their personal insights out there.
