Soorma collects Rs. 25.66 cr in two weeks

Mumbai, July 23 (IBNS): Bollywood film Soorma has collected Rs. 25.66 cr at the Indian box office in two weeks since its release.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Soorma slowed down on second Fri, but picked up again on second Sat and Sun... [Week 2] Fri 85 lakhs, Sat 1.60 cr, Sun 2 cr. Total: ₹ 25.66 cr. India biz. #Soorma biz at a glance... Week 1: ₹ 21.21 cr Weekend 2: ₹ 4.45 cr Total: ₹ 25.66 cr India biz."

Soorma, which released on July 13, is based on Indian Hockey legend Sandeep Singh's life.

The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in the lead roles.

Diljit has essayed Sandeep Singh's role onscreen.

The film is centred on how Singh, who was paralysed and used wheelchair after an attack in 2006, made a comeback to international hockey in 2008.

The film has been directed by Shaad Ali.
