Sanju collects Rs. 34.75 cr on opening day at box office

Mumbai, Jun 30 (IBNS): Rajkumar Hirani directorial Hindi film Sanju has earned Rs. 34.75 cr on the first day of its release at the Indian box office.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Non-holiday... Non-festival release... Yet, #Sanju packs a PHENOMENAL TOTAL on Day 1... Emerges the BIGGEST OPENER of 2018 [so far]... Also, Ranbir's HIGHEST OPENER to date... Expected to cross ₹ 100 cr in 3 days, as per trends... Fri ₹ 34.75 cr. India biz."

Sanju is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. 

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has essayed Sanjay's character in the film.

Apart from Ranbir, the film stars Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and others in distinct roles.

The film has hit the big screens on Jun 29.
