Sanjay Dutt feels overwhelmed by a fan’s gesture

Mumbai, Mar 7 (IBNS): Actor Sanjay Dutt was both surprised and shocked when he learned about a fan Nishi Tripathi who recently passed away transferring all her legal property in his name.

The Bank of Baroda’s Walkeshwar branch representative called the actor to inform him about the incident.

Dutt was deeply moved by the gesture but in no time he wrote back to the bank stating that he does not wish to claim the deceased person’s property.

Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi was a resident of Triveni Apartments at Malabar Hill, Mumbai and was battling a terminal illness.

She is survived by an 80-year-old mother Shanti and siblings Arun, Ashish and Madhu.

The actor was extremely touched by this gesture and was overwhelmed by the level of kindness that a fan had shown towards him.

He issued a letter with the consent of his legal attorney, requesting the bank to return everything to Nishi’s family as he does not wish to claim anything out of it.

Commenting on the entire development, actor Sanjay Dutt said, “As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it”.

Adding to the statement, Dutt’s attorney Jadhav said, “We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family.”
