Mumbai/IBNS: Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as a sleeper hit at the box office and is racing towards the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide, media reports said.
The Hindi biographical-devotional drama, which opened to a modest Rs 10 lakh, has reportedly earned Rs 231.13 crore net in India after 40 days.
According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 8.25 crore net on Day 40 across 9,175 shows, taking its overall domestic net collection to Rs 231.13 crore.
The film's India gross collection has reached Rs 272.90 crore, while its worldwide gross stands at Rs 291.40 crore.
Story of Neem Karoli Baba
Released in 2026, Hanuman Ansh chronicles the spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj-ji.
The film begins with his childhood as Lakshminarayan and traces his transformation into a revered spiritual figure.
The story follows young Lakshminarayan as he searches for answers to questions surrounding life, death and suffering. His quest takes him across North India and eventually leads to his emergence as Neem Karoli Baba.
From modest opening to box-office success
The film's journey has been notable for its sharp turnaround at the box office.
Despite opening with just Rs 10 lakh, Hanuman Ansh has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in domestic gross collections and is now within striking distance of Rs 300 crore globally.
