Ranveer Singh bags 'Best Actor' award at IIFA 2016
Mumbai, June 26 (IBNS): The year 2015 has been a remarkable year for Bollywood's Bajirao Ranveer Singh.
The year saw Ranveer charm one and all with his power packed performance in the epic saga - Bajirao Mastani.
Ranveer as the Peshwa won several accolades and set the actor on an award winning spree.
This year has seen Ranveer win not 1, not 2 but 14 awards across different platforms, the latest being ‘Best Actor’ at the coveted IIFA 2016 that the actor bagged last evening, making it the perfect finale for his fine performance.
Ranveer’s Bajirao has set a milestone in Bollywood and will always be remembered as one of his finest performances.
The man of many charms, Ranveer Singh made sure he left no stone unturned at the do.
Dressed in Tom Ford, an elated Ranveer said, “IIFA was a short trip. I have literally come from the set of Befikre in Paris and I am literally going back to the set immediately after the show to resume the shoot. It was fly in fly out. But I was looking forward to this for a long time because I knew a lot of my friends and colleagues were going to be there. It was lovely to catch up with them. I had a whale of a time!"
"There was none of that anxiety and nervousness that I usually associate with these types of functions, since I was not performing live this time- I was only there to have a good time!It felt amazing to win best actor for Bajirao Mastani. The best part was that Sanjay Sir won Best Director, Priyanka won Best supporting Actor and our technical team pretty much swept the awards so it was a great way to cap a successful year for Team Bajirao Mastani,” said he.
From playing versatile roles to giving thunderous live performances to being the award season favourite, this has been Ranveer’s year.
While his acting skills in Bajirao Mastani and Dil Dhadak Ne Do have won him praises as the next gen Superstar, his out of the box thinking, effervescent personality and innate self-confidence have made him a next-Gen hero.
With YRF’s Befikre slotted to release by the end of this year, seems like there is no end to Ranveer’s dream run.
