Mumbai, Jan 9 (IBNS): A hard-hitting, impactful and interesting trailer of actor Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy was released by its makers on Wednesday.

A teaser of the movie, which was released earlier, had generated immense interest among fans and the trailer lived upto the expectation.

Rapping remained an integral part of the trailer.

The trailer gives a hint that the movie is going to touch the underground rap culture and the performers of the country.

The movie is based on the life of Divine and Naezy (Naved Shaikh), underground rappers from Mumbai.

Sharing the trailer of the movie, actress Alia tweeted: "Wohooooo!! #GullyBoyTrailer out now!! tp://bit.ly/GullyBoy_Trailer …@ritesh_sid #ZoyaAkhtar @FarOutAkhtar #TigerBaby @RanveerOfficial @aliaa08 @ZeeMusicCompany @excelmovies."

The movie is scheduled to release on Feb 14, the day on which the world will observe Valentine's Day.

Why the movie is important?

Ranveer Singh had an eventful 2018 when he got married to his love of the life Deepika Padukone. But more than that he was successful in working in two hit Bollywood movies Padmavaat, which interestingly featured Deepika, and then Simmba.

Both the movies worked well at the Box Office and helped Ranveer dominate the Indian movie scene in a year which witnessed the three Khan-Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan- failing to create charisma with their releases.

Gully Boy will be Ranveer's first major release this year and if this one also turns to be a hit when he will complete an extended hat-trick of success.

Apart from Ranveer, the movie also features Alia whose performance in 2018 release Raazi was appreciated by fans and critics. Her looks from Gully Boy and the trailer itself has once again generated interest on her character.

Zoya returns:

Director Zoya Akhtar, who has presented Indian fans with movies like Dil Dhadakne Do, is returning back with this movie after a gap of four years.

Her last directed movie was Dil Dhadakne Do. It also featured actor Ranveer Singh.

However, this is for the first time that Ranveer, Alia and Zoya have united for a project.

Ranveer and his rap:

Yes, Gully Boy is also interesting as Ranveer has already shown his rapping abilities in the teaser of the movie. The audience will need to wait for a little over a month to see him showcase the talent in the movie when it releases.

He had portrayed the character of a stand-up comedian in Befikre. The movie had released in 2016.
