Madaari meets the Madaari's of Ahmedabad

Mumbai, June 27 (IBNS) On actor Irrfan Khan's recent visit to Ahmedabad he met individuals who have helped the society, by surpassing their limitations and setting examples.

Irrfan met Jyoti, who got married in 2004 .After one and half years of her marriage she got pregnant. She was doing well in the initial days of her pregnancy but after a month suddenly at a routine checkup she found that she was suffering from HIV positive. 

Hearing this her  in - laws and husband abandoned her. After all this she went to her mother’s house to stay but they also refused to accept her and to give her shelter. 

Suffering from all this she went into depression and decided to commit suicide and end her life. Meanwhile when she was all alone a lady came to her and suggested her to join the NGO named VIHAAN . Vihaan is a NGO working for HIV patients. 

Jyoti got connected to the NGO and also got inspired for working for the people who were going through similar situation. 

Today she is serving and helping out more than 1000 people including kids from all over Gujarat. She is now the Project Head of Vihaan NGO. YUVA Unstoppable salutes Jyoti and supports her initiatives .To extend a helping hands to Vihaan , Yuva Unstoppable provide their volunteers to spread a message of equality and no discrimination for HIV

He also met, Gulab Wagela, who was residing in the slum area of Sahpur, Ahmedabad and has himself seen the poverty from really close. He also had big dreams like others and the ambition of studying made him more oriented in it. 

A post graduate from the Gujarat University managed to study till he wanted to. He has been working in hotels since last 15 years for the survival of his family and fulfilling his dream of helping the people of his slum. 

He always wanted to help the children who wanted to take responsibility of their home, and for this purpose he has been providing tuition's to these students in the last 14 years with the help of his wife at his place. The various students from his tuition's have made it big in the society and are able to earn bread for their families.

Irrfan shares, "It was a pleasure to meet Jyoti and Gulab in Ahmedabad. They are heroes in the true sense. They are common people, who have set an example of exceptional work . I salute their efforts and I wish both of them keep up their good work."
