Takht, which will be a historical film, has a power-packed cast. It stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in diverse roles.

Karan tweeted to say, "I am so excited and honoured to announce the lead cast of #TAKHT"

Speaking about his film, Karan had earlier tweeted, "An incredible story embedded in history... An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne... A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession... TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE...."

Following the announcement, Alia, who started her Bollywood career in Karan Johar directorial film Student Of The Year back in 2012, said she can't wait to get back on the shooting floor of Takht.
