John Abraham to hold fund raising event to help Assam flood victims

Guwahati, Aug 20 (IBNS) : After Amir Khan, another bollywood actor raised his voice to help the flood victims of Assam.

Bollywood actor and Indian Super League (ISL) franchise NorthEast United FC owner John Abraham on Sunday said that, to help the flood victims of Assam he is willing to hold a fund raising event.

“Our heart is for Assam flood. Our solidarity is with the flood victims. We would like to hold a fund raising event with association with the Assam government to help the flood victims. I will meet Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding this,” John Abraham said.

The bollywood star said that, NorthEast United FC will always be with the flood victims of the state, whenever there is any necessity.

The current wave of devasting flood has claimed 63 lives across the state so far and over 229 animals died in Kaziranga National Park.

Till Sunday, over 1.86 million people of 15 districts are still homeless in the devasting flood.

Earlier, bollywood actor Amir Khan appealed to the people of the nation to help the flood victims of Assam and Gujarat through social media during the first wave flood.

Amir Khan had also donated Rs 25 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister Relief Fund.
