Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro director Kundan Shah passes away

Mumbai, Oct 7 (IBNS): Bollywood director Kundan Shah, of 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' fame, passed away on Saturday morning, after a cardiac arrest, according to media reports.

 

He was 69.

The satirical comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) was his first film as a director.

‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ (1993) and TV shows like ‘Nukkad’ (1986) and ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’ (1988) were some of his other popular works.

Tweeted film maker Subhash Ghai, "Good bye #kundan shah. We all @FTIIOfficial @Whistling_Woods shall remember u for your great films with us n in history indian cinema.."

Director and writer Sudhir Mishra tweeted, "It's probably wrong but I can't help but imagine Kundan Shah n Renu Saluja meeting  n arguing over a cut n maybe Ravi Baswani is mediating!"

"A brave man Kundan Shah, who added vigour to the alternate cinema stream with movies like  Jaane bhi do yaaro has left us. Adieux Kundan," tweeted film maker Mahesh Bhatt.
