Irrfan Khan visits Kolkata to promote his upcoming film ‘Hindi Medium’

Kolkata, May 10 (IBNS): Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan on Wednesday visited Kolkata to promote his upcoming movie Hindi Medium.

Hindi Medium is an upcoming Hindi film, a T-series & Maddock Films presentation, written by Zeenat Lakhani, directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar.

The film will have Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in the lead roles. Irrfan Khan visited Kolkata today afternoon at Novotel for a Press Conference to promote his upcoming Bollywood film 'Hindi Medium'.

It is a slice of life film where in Irrfan plays a Punjabi businessman from Chandni Chowk and Saba his wife.

They're a Hindi speaking couple who do their best to get their child admitted in an English speaking school. Irrfan Khan & Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium is all set to release on May 19.

The makers of Hindi Medium namely producers Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar are confident the film is a good one so; they want to ensure that the word of the film reaches everyone & gets enough publicity.

Dinesh Vijan says, “We are confident about how the film has shaped up & sure that the audience will love it too since it has the potential.”

Bhushan Kumar says, “The whole team has seen the film & we are very excited about the same. We are very happy &proud of the final product &feel that this film deserves to be promoted more so that it can reach out to more people. I am positive that everybody in the country can relate to it.”

The topic of the film is something so relatable that the Indian audiences will surely feel like they’re a part of the film. Irrfan & Saba play Raj and Mita who do everything in their power to ensure their daughter receives the best education.

Saba Qamar did everything to convince the audience she’s a Delhi girl. She took special lessons to learn the Delhi dialect for her role in the film. Also, Saba went street shopping in the most famous Delhi streets and visited social places where most youngsters go to hangout to observe them and try and get a hang of their body language, attitude and behavior.{image_3}

When Saba was questioned on how the experience was to be a full-fledged Delhi-ite she said, “It wasn’t easy for me to learn the dialect, simply because I usually speak in a typical Urdu lehja, like aap, hum, and tum. Also, the way Delhi girls are so bold and confident in them was a really nice thing to see. I enjoyed playing a North Indian girl in Hindi medium".

Hindi Medium has Irrfan Khan playing a Punjabi businessman and sari shop-owner from Chandni Chowk.
