Doing something live is more thrilling than films: Shekhar Kapur
St. Gallen, Feb 19 (IBNS): Veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur loved directing his first musical "Matterhorn" and said doing a live act was 'more thrilling' than film.
" Rapturous standing ovation to our Musical, Matterhorn, premiered last night. My first attempt as Director on Musicals. I loved the experience and really look forward to doing more. Doing something live is far more thrilling than film. More immersive ," Kapur tweeted.
Kapur shared a small clip on his Twitter page where people could be seen appreciating the performance with standing ovation.
Kapur gained international recognition with the 1994 Bollywood film Bandit Queen, based on Mala Sen's biography of infamous Indian bandit and politician Phoolan Devi, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and Filmfare Critics Awards for Best Movie and Best Direction for that year.
In international cinema, his historical biopics on Queen Elizabeth, Elizabeth (1998) and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), won the BAFTA Award for Best Film and two Academy Awards.
