Distributors plan to ask Salman Khan to compensate for Tubelight losses

Mumbai, Jul 4 (IBNS): Someone like Salman Khan is not used to such circumstances ever since he rose to prominence. The Box Office has always had reasons to smile whenever his films hit the screens across the globe. But his latest ‘blockbuster’ Tubelight has done more harms than good to his superstar reputation, according to reports in a section of media.

The film took more than week to reach the 100-crore mark and perhaps the worst result for him as well as his distributors. Grapevine says several Indian distributors have already called a meeting with the Sultan to convey him about the losses they incurred for Tubelight.

In a bid to recover their mammoth losses, the distributors are desperate to meet Khan and ask for compensation from him.

With everyone bearing losses, the worst affected were the single screen owners in smaller cities of the country. Each of them is estimated to have lost over Rs 1 crore for this Kabir Khan-directed movie.

The total loss from the film is to the tune of Rs 40-50 crore and the distributors are hopeful that Khan will compensate them as he has big heart besides his stature. Also, the director Khan has skipped any functions and has disappeared from the scene.

Insiders say that he was so disheartened that he not only kept himself away from the gatherings, he is also not to be seen in social media too.
