Dangal, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt emerge major winners at 62nd Filmfare Awards

Mumbai, Jan 15 (IBNS): Dangal is not only creating havoc at the Box-Office but has also swept some of the major honours at the Filmfare Awards 2017 including actor Aamir Khan winning the Best Actor one.

Alia Bhatt emerged as the winner of Best Actor Award (Female) for her performance in 'Udta Punjab'.

The Best Director Award went to Nitesh Tiwari while his directorial venture Dangal bagged the Best Action Award with Sham Kaushal winning the same.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan hosted the star-studded 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards which had all the glam and glitz.

Meanwhile actress Sonam Kapoor won the Critics' Award For Best Actor (Female) for her performance in 'Neerja' and actors Manoj Bajpayee as well as Shahid Kapoor shared the Critics' Award For Best Actor (Male) for their portrayals in 'Aligarh' and 'Udta Punjab' respectively.

Director Ram Madhvani bagged Critics' Award For Best Film for 'Neerja'.

In the music category, Arijit Singh won the Best Playback (Male) for the title song of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' while Pritam bagged the Best Music Director and Best Music Album honours for the same film.

Neha Bhasin achieved the Best Playback Singer (Female) for 'Jag Ghoomeya' from 'Sultan'.

The Best Lyrics award went to Amitabh Bhattacharya for 'Channa Mereya.'

'Kapoor & Sons' also bagged several awards with Rishi Kapoor winning The Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male), Adil Shaikh achieving the Best Choreography one for 'Kar Gayi Chul', and Shakun Batra and Ayesha Devitre receiving Best Story and Best Screenplay for the same film.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi won the The Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for her performance in 'Neerja.'
