Anupam Kher questions eyesight after losing 130,000 followers on Twitter

Mumbai, July 14 (IBNS): Actor Anupam Kher humourously said he questioned his eyesight after he found that his Twitter account lost 130,000 followers.

Kher tweeted: " Losing almost 130000 followers on @Twitter had its initial side effects. Panic, memory loss, disbelief, anxiety, questioning my eyesight etc. Even tho I was explained patiently that it is part of cleaning up policy. But I felt जैसे उन्होंने मुझे अपनी जायदाद से बेदख़ल कर दिया।."

Kher uses Twitter quite regularly.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Twitter account also lost several followers after the micro-blogging website changed its policy recently.

Twitter recently announced a global crackdown on fake and automated accounts.

According to reports, Modi's account had around 43.4 Million on July 12.

However, it stood at 43.1 Million on Friday.

The PMO India Twitter page also lost Twitter followers, reports said.

Its current follower figure stood at 26.6 million.

Speaking on its crackdown, Twitter recently said in a blog post: "Over the years, we’ve locked accounts when we detected sudden changes in account behavior. In these situations, we reach out to the owners of the accounts and unless they validate the account and reset their passwords, we keep them locked with no ability to log in."

"This week, we’ll be removing these locked accounts from follower counts across profiles globally. As a result, the number of followers displayed on many profiles may go down," it said.
