Ali Zafar expresses hope that Manto release in Pakistan

Islamabad, Dec 17 (IBNS): Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar has expressed hopes that  Indian filmmaker Nandita Das' "Manto" releases in his nation as well.

Zafar said he feels that the current generation should get a chance to know about Urdu writer Saadat Haasan Manto.

He tweeted: "Saw Manto on Netflix in Pak. Thoroughly impressed by the nuanced direction by @nanditadas and brilliant depiction by @Nawazuddin_S. This generation must get know #Manto on a deeper level and own its literary heritage and heroes. I hope it releases here @fawadchaudhry."

The movie did not get a clearance for its release in Pakistan.

"Disappointed that Manto will not be seen in theatres in Pakistan. I was keen as he belongs to both countries equally. Viacom18 Motion Pictures Namrata Goyal," Das had tweeted.
