Akshay Kumar turns 50,B-town wishes him

Mumbai, Sept 9 (IBNS): One of the biggest superstar of Bollywood Akshay Kumar turned 50 on Saturday as Bollywood celebrities wished him on his special day.

Akshay Kumar is known for gifting his fans string of hit movies every year.

This year Akshay Kumar has already won hearts with two movies-Jolly LLB 2 and 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'.

Wife and Bollywood actor Twinkle Khanna shared a lovely homamade video of the actor and wished him: "Happy birthday to my best friend,kindest man in the world, a great dad with the best'dancey face'& jeez all that hotness on top of it all:)."

Actor Hrithik Roshan tweeted: "Happy birthday @akshaykumar keep shining . #Gold to diamond. All my love "

Actor Farhan Akhtar said: "#AkshayturnsGold in more ways than one.. Happy 50th in advance @akshaykumar love and best wishes always.."

Actor Arjun Rampal wished the 50-year-old National Award winning actor and said: "Happy birthday Akki. @akshaykumar have a splendid year. Keep rocking. More power to you. Love #HappyBirthdayAkshaykumar . "

Born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia in the year 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab,Kumar has worked as a chef and a waiter in a restaurant in Bangkok before entering Bollywood.

Kumar made his Bollywood debut in 1991 with the film ‘Saugandh’, which was followed by the 1992 thriller film ‘Khiladi’.

After the success of ‘Khiladi’ he appeared in several other films of the Khiladi series including ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi’, ‘International Khiladi’,and ‘Khiladi 420’.

The year 1999 proved to be one of the most successful year in Kumar’s career as his performance in two films ‘Sangharsh’ and ‘Jaanwar’ was praised by the critics Apart from gaining fame as an action hero, Kumar’s comic roles has always been praised and with films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Garam Masala’ he established himself as a successful comedy star of the industry.

He also starred in few romantic films like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Namastey London’, ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ and others.

In 2008, he made his debut as a television host in the popular reality show ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

The actor has won several awards in his Bollywood career.

The actor has been awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India and has been honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Award for his outstanding achievements in Bollywood.

The actor is married to his co-star and actress Twinkle Khanna.
