Mumbai, Dec 24 (IBNS): Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone has referred to her next film Chhapaak as "a story of trauma and triumph".

Deepika is all set to begin her work with director Meghna Gulzar for Chhapaak, in which the actress will play the real life character of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

In a tweet on Monday, the 32-year actress said: "A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit. Elated to collaborate with Fox Star Studios on #Chhapaak "

Meghna has roped in popular television actor Vikrant Massey, who featured in Hindi films like Lootera, Dil Dhadakne, Half Girlfriend, Lipstick Under My Burkha, to cast him opposite Deepika.

The film is expected to go to the shooting floors next year.
