US, London Mayor condemn attack on Pakistan politician Imran Khan
The United States on Friday condemned the attack on former Pakistan PM Imran Khan and said there is no room for violence in politics.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted: "The U.S. strongly condemns the shooting of@ImranKhanPTIat a political rally. We wish him and all others injured a quick recovery, and we offer condolences to the family of the individual who was killed. All parties should remain peaceful. Violence has no place in politics."

UK foreign secretary James Cleverly said: "Shocking attack on @imrankhanpti in Pakistan which has left one person dead. My thoughts are with all those affected. There is no space for violence in politics." London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed concern and posted: "I'm deeply concerned by these reports from Pakistan. No political leader should ever face violence or intimidation. My prayers are with Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan at this extremely distressing time."

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also showed solidarity with Khan and said: "The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (#OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the assassination attempt, today, Thursday 3 November 2022, on Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of #Pakistan. #ImranKhan."

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was rushed to a Lahore hospital and later declared out of danger after he was injured in firing at his rally in Wazirabad in Pakistan's Punjab on Thursday afternoon.
A supporter was killed and 13 others were injured in what his party called an "assassination attempt" on the former cricketer.
The attack happened during his ongoing march to Islamabad at Gujranwala district, about 200 km from the capital, against the army establishment-backed central government.
With his right leg bandaged, Khan, 70, was seen waving as he was shifted into an SUV. He was later reported to be "out of danger".

The attack brought back chilling memories of the assassination of another former Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto during a rally in 2007.
