At least 21 people died due to various rain-related incidents in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region recently, authorities said on Tuesday.

As per the government body, the deceased included nine children and three women, whereas 32 people were injured as well, reported Ary News.

As many as 330 incidents of roof and wall collapse were reported in various districts of the province due to rain.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) told Ary News 200 tents, blankets, mosquito nets and mattresses have been provided to the affectees along with 100 kitchen sets and mats each.

“Further heavy rains are expected to cause flash floods in low-lying areas [of KP] and have raised concerns about landslides in hilly regions,” PDMA spokesperson Ihsan Dawar told Arab News.

“The district administrations should take proactive and immediate measures before the second spell of the rains begins … and ensure the availability of small and large machinery.”

Incessant rain resulting in floods has disrupted life in the UAE.
