Kabul: Taliban government officials have said passport issuance in Kabul that has been temporarily suspended now for 17 days will resume soon after technical issues are solved.

Issuance of Passport stopped in Kabul on Dec 23 after a suicide bomber was shot dead at the gate of the central office, reports Khaama Press.

The office was later closed due to security reasons.

Head of the directorate Alamgul Haqqani told Khaama Press that security concerns have ended and the only problems are technical problems that have led to the closure of the center.

Haqqani called on people not to apply for passports in person and that online applications will be available once technical issues get resolved.

According to reports, the closure of passport offices in the city has left people angered.
