Roadside bomb kills 1 soldier, wounds 3 in Afghan eastern Khost city

Khost, Afghanistan, Nov 5 (Xinhua/UNI) One soldier was killed and three others sustained injuries as a roadside bomb struck a military vehicle of national army in Khost city of eastern Khost province on Tuesday, an army spokesman in the province said.

According to the official, Captain Abdullah, the militants placed a mine on a road in Khost city and the device exploded next to a van of an army patrol team, killing one soldier on the spot and wounding three others.


The official did not give more details, saying investigation has been initiated.


Meanwhile, the Taliban outfit claimed responsibility and insisting that four soldiers were killed and three others wounded in the blast.
