Islamabad/Xinhua/UNI: A collision between a passenger van and a truck late Sunday night left six people dead and 12 others injured in Mastung district of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, local reports said on Monday.

The passenger van was heading towards provincial capital of Quetta when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on one of the major highways in the province.

The exact cause of the accident has not been determined yet, but police suspects that over speeding by the van driver might have been the major cause.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital where several of them are said to be in critical condition.
