Pakistan security forces arrest leader of hitmen belonging to TTP

Islamabad, Apr 4 (IBNS): A leader of a gang of hitmen belonging to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been arrested by law enforcement agencies in Quetta town of Pakistan, media reports said.

According to reports, the group was involved in the killing of 16 police officers in the past three months in Quetta.

Security forces are conducting raids to arrest more members of the group.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was quoted as saying by Dawn News: "Fazal Haq Ghaibzai, the ring leader of the TTP target killers, was arrested during a joint operation by police, the Counter Terrorism Department and the Frontier Corps on Tuesday night on the basis of intelligence information."

Bizenjo said Fazal Haq Ghaibzai has confessed during interrogation that he and some of his gang members were associated with the killing of  some senior police officers and FC personnel in different areas of Quetta.

Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti told the Dawn news paper: "Ghaibzai said Asim Muhammad Hasni, one of his accomplices, used his wife in different terrorist acts and for hiding weapons. He said Pir Ain-uz-Zaman is emir of the TTP Balochistan and the killers’ gang was formed on his order.”
