Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was slammed by his ex-wife Reham Khan after she was allegedly accosted by unidentified men who opened fire at her car and held the vehicle at gunpoint in the capital Islamabad.

Hitting out at Imran Khan, Reham Khan described the state of the country as 'New Pakistan'.

She even called Pakistan a state of cowards, thugs and the greedy.

"On the way back from my nephew’s marriage my car just got fired at & two men on a motorbike held vehicle at gunpoint!! I had just changed vehicles. My PS & driver were in the car. This is Imran Khan’s New Pakistan? Welcome to the state of cowards, thugs & the greedy!!" Rehman wrote on Twitter.

The British-Pakistani journalist was briefly married to Imran Khan, and the marriage ended in just 10 months in 2015.
