Quetta: At least nine Balochistan Constabulary (BC) personnel died in a bomb attack in Pakistan's Bolan region on Monday.

The attack left 13 others hurt.

Kachhi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahmood Notezai confirmed the casualties to Dawn News.

“The constabulary van was on its way back to Quetta from Sibi when an explosion occurred on the Kambri bridge in the area bordering the Sibi and Kachhi districts,” he said.

According to the official, a motorcyclist — believed to be a suicide bomber — rammed his vehicle into the police van.

He told the newspaper the exact nature of the attack will be ascertained after investigation.

The injured people were later shifted to Sibi Civil Hospital for treatment.

SSP Notezai told Dawn News the area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
