Pakistan: Lahore DIG Shariq Jamal found dead at his residence

Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Shariq Jamal, was found dead at his residence located in the Pakistani city's DHA neighbourhood n Saturday.

He was initially brought to National Hospital in Lahore where the doctors confirmed the death, reports Dawn News.

The deceased officer’s family members, including his daughter and wife, rushed to the hospital after hearing about the incident.

Subsequently, the body was transferred to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination, the police said.

The police said the actual cause of the incident will be ascertained after conducting the autopsy.

Talking to Dawn.com, SHO Shabbir Awan revealed that the body had not yet been handed over to the family but will be done after the post-mortem examination.
