Speaking on the meeting, Imran Khan's PTI tweeted; "Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached Quetta where he met Hazara brethren at BUITEMS. Fatiha offered for the martyrs of recent blast. Prime Minister listened to the issues of Hazara brethren and assured State will ensure their protection."

Imran Khan arrived in Quetta at a time when 20 people lost their lives and 48 others received injuries in a blast believed to be targeting members of the Hazara community in Quetta's Hazarganji market recently.

In the blast, which rocked the region on Apr 12, nine Hazara and one Frontier Corps (FC) soldier lost their lives.

Following the attack, members of the Shia Hazara community held sit-in and demanded the PM to visit Quetta and assure them protection.
