turbat: Hundreds of women blocked a highway between Turbat and Hoshab as they demonstrated against the arrest of two women on Monday, media reports said.

The protesters alleged that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel forced their way into a house and took away two women, alleging that one of them was plotting an attack on a vehicle carrying “some foreigners” on CPEC Highway, reports Dawn News.

Gulzar Dost, convener of Turbat Civil Society, declined the CTD claim.

A number of people took to the streets in Hoshab and later staged a sit-in on the highway, suspending traffic between Turbat and Hoshab for hours, reports the newspaper.

People were seen holding placards and chanting anti-government slogans.
