Pakistan: 544 illegal electric connections found across five districts in Punjab

Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) teams have detected 544 illegal power connections in five Punjab districts.

The connections were detected across five Pakistan districts of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara while anti-power theft campaign was held.

The Lesco spokesman told Dawn News that the company has also submitted FIR applications against electricity thieves, of which 212 FIRs were registered in respective police stations, while 37 accused have been arrested by the respective police.

According to reports, large commercial consumers were also found to be involved in the theft.

All illegal connections have been disconnected.
