Man of Bangladeshi origin shot dead in New York

Dhaka, Sept 3 (IBNS): A man of Bangladeshi descent has been shot dead in New York city of the US, media reports said on Tuesday.

He has been identified as Md Shahed Uddin, 27.

Two others, one of whom hails from Sylhet, were injured in the incident outside a nightclub on 130th Street and 90 Avenue in Richmond Hill in the early hours of Monday, reported bdnews24.

An altercation between two groups outside the nightclub escalated into the shooting, a New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson told the news portal.

He was rushed away to Jamaica Hospital where he passed away.

Shahed's body will be handed over to his family after an autopsy on Tuesday, according to the NYPD, reported bdnews24.

He will be laid to rest today.

No person has been arrested so far.
