Beijing/IBNS: As the world is struggling with Coronavirus, a man in China has died of Hantavirus, media reports said on Tuesday.

The man, from Yunnan Province of Southwest China, died on Monday while travelling to Shandong Province in the east, the state-run Global Times newspaper reported.

The virus was identified as the man was screened for the bug after he died.

Another 32 people travelling on the same bus were tested for the virus, which is rarely passed from human to human.

The results of the tests were unclear. The victim was not named in the report, and his cause of death was not stated, reports said.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, members of the family of hantavirus pathogens are mainly spread by rodents.

"Infection with any hantavirus can produce hantavirus disease in people," the CDC stated.

Presently, there are 395,467 coronavirus cases worldwide with 17,241 people succumbing to the virus, according to John Hopkins live tracker. A total of 103,317 people have recovered.
