Ex-MQM-London member shot dead in Pakistan

Karachi, June 30 (IBNS):  A former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-London member was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Pakistan's Karachi city on Friday, media reports said.

The deceased man was identified as 38-year-old Furqan Abul Hasan.

According to the police, Furqan was shot dead in a targetted killing with a 9mm pistol, reported Geo News.

The reason behind the killing is still not known.

Police have started an investigation into the matter.

MQM is a secular political party in Pakistan that was founded by Altaf Hussain in 1984.

Currently, the party is split between 2 main factions.

MQM-London faction is controlled by Altaf Hussain from London, while MQM-Pakistan is run by Farooq Sattar based in Pakistan.
