COVID-19: Bangladesh's death toll tops 1,200; total cases exceed 90,000

Dhaka/UNI: Bangladesh confirmed 38 more fatalities from Novel Coronavirus on Monday, bringing the country's death toll to over 1,200.

According to senior Health Ministry official Nasima Sultana, ''3,099 new COVID-19 positive cases and 38 deaths, including 32 men and six women were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh.''

The number of confirmed COVID cases in the country now totals 90,619, with fatalities standing at 1,209, Ms Sultana said in a briefing in Dhaka.

Bangladesh had recorded highest 3,471 cases on June 12.

According to the official, 15,038 samples were tested in the past 24 hours in labs across Bangladesh.
