Asadabad, Afghanistan, Apr 9 (Xinhua/UNI) One civilian was killed and two police officers wounded in a bomb attack in Afghanistan's eastern province of Kunar on Tuesday, the provincial government spokesman said.

"The incident occurred when a police vehicle was running during a routine patrolling at around 0800 hrs in Manogaiy district, and the injured police officers were shifted to a main hospital in provincial capital of Asadabad," Ghani Musamam told Xinhua.

The police vehicle was also damaged in the explosion, he said.

He blamed enemies of peace, referring to the Taliban militant group, for the attack.

The mountainous province has been the scene of clashes between security forces and militants for long.

Fighting between government forces and militants often gets intense in spring and summer as the seasons are locally branded as the fighting season.
