Dhaka, Dec 20 (IBNS): Alleging that the Prime Minister made false claims against their leader Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh's opposition party BNP has sent legal notice to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The party demanded unconditional apology for the “baseless and motivated” statements against Khaleda Zia within 30 days, or otherwise warned of filing a defamation suit, The Daily Star reported.

BNP leader  Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told the media about the legal notice sent to the Prime Minister on Wednesday.

AM Mahbubuddin Khokon, the BNP lawyer who forwarded the legal notice, told The Daily Star today that the notice was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday.

Speaking on the Zia's wealth, Prime Minister Hasina had told media on Dec 7 that the ex-PM of the nation has wealth stashed in the Middle East.

The BNP however, rejected the allegations.
