BLA claims 90 Pakistani soldiers died as blast occurs close to their convoy in Balochistan

The Balochistan Liberation Army, the group which was responsible for the hijacking of a passenger train last week, claimed 90 Pakistani soldiers died after a blast occurred close to a convoy in which the security personnel were travelling in Balochistan’s Noshki district on Sunday.

However, Pakistani officials claimed five security personnel died and 12 others were injured in the attack that occurred on the national highway.

According to Noshki Station House Officer (SHO) Zafarullah Sumalani, initial investigations suggest the incident was a suicide attack, as reported Dawn News.

SHO Sumalani said that evidence from the site of the attack suggested that a suicide attacker rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the FC convoy.

The injured people were shifted to FC Camp and Noshki Teaching Hospital following the attack.

SHO Sumalani feared the death toll in the incident may rise.

Pakistan Interior Minister Condemns

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the incident.

He posted on X: "We share the grief of the families of the deceased. Targeting innocent people is the height of brutality. The enemy of the country is hatching a heinous conspiracy to create instability in the beloved homeland. The nation's firm resolve cannot be weakened by such cowardly acts."

BLA claims 90 Pakistani Army personnel killed

The BLA issued a statement saying that 90 terrorists were killed in the attack.

“The Majeed Brigade, the Fidayee unit of the Baloch Liberation Army, targeted a convoy of the occupying Pakistani military a few hours ago in a VBIED Fidayee attack near Rakhshan Mill on the RCD Highway in Noshki. The convoy consisted of eight buses, one of which was completely destroyed in the explosion,” BLA said in a statement which is currently being circulated on the social media.

Jaffar Express

BLA militants claimed to have hijacked the Jaffar Express train last week near Balochistan’s Sibi area, which left 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel, dead.

Five Pakistani security personnel died during the operation that followed the hijacking of the train.
