A Deepto TV journalist died in a road mishap on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Bank Town area of Bangladesh on Sunday.

The deceased person was identified as Kamruzzaman Ratan.

He was 50.

He was a  video editor at Deepto TV in Dhaka.

Deepto TV Savar correspondent Abdul Halim told Dhaka Tribune: "Kamruzzaman worked as a video editor in our head office. However, as he resided in the Talbag area of Savar, he used to commute to work on a motorcycle. This morning, while he was on his way from home to the office, a reckless vehicle in the Banktown area ran him over. He died on the spot, and the police later recovered his body."

"I cannot accept the death of Kamruzzaman Bhai in any way. We lost a dear colleague today due to reckless driving on the roads," he said.
