Bangladesh: Unidentified miscreants vandalise Hindu temple, loot gold ornaments

Dhaka: Unidentified miscreants vandalised a Hindu temple in Bangladesh's  Lalmonihat Sadar area on Wednesday, media reports said.

They also looted the gold ornaments the Kali idol was adorned with and cash from the donation box, Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Omar Farooq told The Daily Star.

The attack occurred on  Ratipur Paschimpara Central Cremation Temple.

The miscreants broke in the temple by cutting the iron grill. People who came in the morning to worship found that the temple was vandalised, Promodh Chandra Roy, the president of the temple told the newspaper.

"Police have visited the spot. We are preparing to file a case in this regard," he said. Lalmonirhat Superintendent of Police Shaiful Islam also visited the spot.

Police said they are trying to arrest the vandals.
