Bangladesh: Seven-year-old raped, accused arrested

Dhaka: A person has been arrested for allegedly raping a seven-year-old  in Pangsa upazila of Bangladesh's Rajbari area on Monday, meia reports said on Wednesday.

Locals caught the accused, Munnaf Sheikh alias Bangal, 45, and handed him over to police the same day. Munnaf lives with his in-laws in Chorjhikri village of Habaspur, reports Dhaka Tribune.

Quoting the survivor, a pre-primary school student, her mother told the newspaper that Munnaf had covered her mouth, took her inside his house and raped her.

Another neighbour Rasheda Khatun told Dhaka Tribune she had seen the incident happening through the window.

A case was filed in connection with the incident in Pangsa Model police station.
