Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladesh government on Monday confirmed three new coronavirus cases, taking the number of infected people in the country to eight, media reports said.

Three of the coronavirus infected people returned home after recovery.

Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research, or IEDCR, made the announcement on Monday, reported bdnews24.

Meanwhile, the ODI and Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh was postponed indefinitely due to spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Both the teams were slated to play one-off ODI on April 1 and second Test from April 5.

"The two boards will now work together to identify a future opportunity to complete the ICC World Test Championship commitment," PCB said in a statement on Monday.

Due to coronavirus Australia's ODI series against New Zealand was called off, as was India's ODI series against South Africa. Both series were to be held without spectators before being called off altogether.

England also postponed their two-match Test series in Sri Lanka while the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was due to start on March 29, has also been suspended till April 15.
