Kabul/IBNS: The Taliban on Monday took the responsibility of killing a U.S soldier in the northern Kunduz province, media reports said.

“Last night we performed a heavy explosion on the U.S occupiers and their slaves in the Safarbai area of Chahar Dara district in Kunduz, as a result of which an American soldier was killed, another U.S soldier an an Afghan special force member were seriously injured.”, Zabihullah Mujaheed tweeted as reported by Khaama  Press.

The U.S forces based Afghanistan released a statement on Monday confirming the murder of an American solider in Afghanistan, but did not provide further details, reported the news agency.

This incident occurred just three days after two U.S. service members were killed in a helicopter crash on Nov 20 in Afghanistan.

"The cause of the crash is under investigation, however preliminary reports do not indicate it was caused by enemy fire," NATO Resolute Support said in a statement.
