Afghanistan security forces kill shadow governor of Taliban

Kabul/IBNS: Afghanistan security forces have killed the shadow governor of the Taliban group in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan, media reports said.

He was reportedly killed during a clash.

The 203rd Thunder Corps in a statement said the Afghan forces responded to a Taliban attack while acting in self-defense, killing Wali Jan alias Hamza, the shadow governor of Taliban for Wardak, reported Khaama Press.

The statement further added that the security forces also 4 other Taliban militants and wounded 8 more during the clash, reported the news agency.

The Taliban did not comment on the issue.
