Afghanistan: E-ID card back in Kabul

| @indiablooms | Oct 18, 2021, at 03:30 am

Kabul/UNI/Xinhua: Authorities in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, have resumed the electronic national identity card issuance service, the local television channel Tolonews reported Sunday.

The service was resumed Saturday after two months of a halt and in the first phase, 80,000 e-ID cards will be issued, the report said.

After the country's takeover by the Taliban in mid-August, the government agencies handling passport and e-ID card affairs had remained closed.

The passport department resumed the issuance service last week, according to the Tolonews report.
