Zendaya Turns 30 as Mother Says Actress Has Taken Break From Social Media

Hollywood actress Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, recently revealed that her daughter has taken a break from social media while wishing her on her 30th birthday.

Stoermer made the announcement in an Instagram post featuring several throwback photographs of Zendaya from her childhood.

“Happy 30th birthday to the love and light of my life!! even tho you’re not on socials anymore, and you won’t see this!! we just got off FaceTime!!” she wrote.

However, despite her mother’s claim that Zendaya was no longer active on social media, the actress herself shared a post on Instagram thanking her fans for their birthday wishes.

“I can’t thank y’all enough for making the last year of my twenties so beautiful, I have so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to, with love as always….here’s to 30!!!!!” Zendaya wrote.

She also shared a childhood photograph of herself on the platform.

Born in Oakland, California, Zendaya began her career as a child model and dancer before rising to prominence through her roles in Disney Channel sitcoms Shake It Up (2010–2013) and K.C. Undercover (2015–2018), the latter of which she also produced.

She went on to receive widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Rue Bennett in HBO’s drama series Euphoria (2019–2026). Her performance earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making her the youngest performer to win the award.

Zendaya made her feature-film debut as Michelle Jones-Watson in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). She reprised the role in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026).

Her other major film credits include The Greatest Showman (2017), Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy (2021–2026) and The Odyssey (2026).

She has also earned critical praise for her performances in films including Malcolm & Marie (2021), Challengers (2024) and The Drama (2026).

Zendaya’s birthday celebration comes as the actress continues to balance her high-profile Hollywood career with an increasingly private personal life.
